Rocket Launcher: Our Craft CMS Plugin, on the Dot All Stage

July 15, 2026 · Craft CMS · Brilliance · plugins

Every so often something you built quietly in the background steps into the spotlight. That happened for us with Rocket Launcher, a Craft CMS plugin we developed at Brilliance.

At the opening of Dot All — Pixel & Tonic’s Craft CMS conference — in Lisbon, Portugal, Rocket Launcher got a mention in the opening remarks by Pixel & Tonic’s CEO, Brandon Kelly. If you’ve spent years building on a platform, hearing the people who made that platform call out your work in front of the whole community is a genuinely special moment.

What Rocket Launcher does

Rocket Launcher is our answer to a problem every Craft team knows: the gap between “empty install” and “ready to build.” Instead of re-doing the same setup on every project, it accelerates the launch — bundling the sensible defaults, structure, and tooling we’d otherwise wire up by hand, so a new Craft build starts from a strong, consistent foundation.

(Mark — this is the high-level version; tell me the details and I’ll make it precise.)

Why it matters to me

Two things. First, it’s proof of a philosophy I care about: build tools that make good practice the easy path. The best way to ship quality consistently is to bake it into the starting line.

Second, it’s a reminder of what a healthy ecosystem feels like. Craft’s community — and the team at Pixel & Tonic — genuinely champions the people building on it. That’s rare, and it’s a big part of why I keep choosing Craft for client work.
